A recent Commonwealth Bank study found that home buying intentions declined in July 2021. Considering that much of the country is experiencing lockdown conditions, and many of us are accessing hardship assistance, it makes sense that buying a home or a car may be far from the first thing on our minds.

That said, 25 banks and mortgage lenders are drumming up new business by offering cashback deals and similar offers with their home loans. Of course, most of these cashback offers are available for refinancers only.

Here are some of the best home loans for refinancers and investors in August 2021:

Rankings are correct at the time of publishing. Please note lenders may trade places on the list as interest rates and fees change and RateCity’s tracker reflects these movements.

Best refinance home loans

Cashback deals are only available on a limited number of home loans, primarily for refinancers. Even if cashback isn’t a motivation for you, there are a variety of home loans for refinancers that offer low interest rates and flexible features and benefits.

Best interest only investor home loans

Investors looking to minimise their mortgage repayments for a limited time may choose to opt for interest-only repayments. While this may mean paying more interest in the long run, the lower repayments in the short term can help make managing your investment much simpler.

Best packaged home loans

Switching home loans often also means switching banks. If you fulfil the eligibility criteria, you may qualify to refinance over to a home loan package that bundles a mortgage with a transaction account, credit card, insurance, or other financial products, all at a discounted package fee.

5 year fixed investor

Investors looking to lock in a low interest rate for a long period of time may not be able to source quite as many record-low rates as they used to. That said, there are several options available that offer other benefits, including cashback deals.
