About Queensland Country Credit Union credit cards
Queensland Country Credit Union has a narrow range of credit cards:
- Standard Visa credit cards
- Rewards VISA credit cards (earns Rewarder points)
Members of Queensland Country Credit Union can choose to either have a standard credit card or upgrade it into a rewards credit card.
The interest rate on purchases on Queensland Country Credit Union credit cards is moderate compared to its competitors. Unlike many credit cards that raise the interest interest rate on cash advances, Queensland Credit Union keeps the same moderate rate. The interest-free days are also moderate.
Fees vary slightly between the standard and the Rewards Visa, but both are moderately low.
When it comes to credit limits, Queensland Country Credit Union can start low and go moderately high – although credit limits will ultimately be decided by a member’s own financial situation.
Queensland Country Credit Union doesn’t offer any balance transfer options on its credit cards.
Queensland Country Credit Union credit cards review
The credit cards offered by Queensland Country Credit Union would suit customers looking for a simple, reasonably low-cost credit card with the option to get cashback rewards.
Queensland Country Credit Union rewards work differently than the programs offered by the big banks. Instead of earning points that are cashed in as gift- vouchers or used to buy products from a catalogue, Queensland Country Credit Union members earn points that are loaded onto a separate ‘rewarder’ card.
This ‘rewarder’ card can be used like an EFTPOS card that members can use to buy goods and services at any business that accepts EFTPOS. However, the rewarder program does have a monthly cap.
The credit cards offered by Queensland Country Credit Union don’t come with a lot of perks, however it does allow extra card holders for free, and credit card holders get access to exclusive offers and pre-sale tickets through Visa Entertainment.
