Earn 200k credit card points: cards with the biggest points offers on sign up in July
Sign up bonus points offered by card issuers are one of the most competitive factors when comparing credit cards. This July, there are a range of premium credit cards offering six-figure bulk bonus points on sign up for eligible customers.
The latest Reserve Bank of Australia figures show that credit card spending was up in May, rising 12.5% month-on-month. Australia's appetite for plastic has not gone away despite the growing cost of living or recent cash rate hikes.
So, for big spenders and points chasers out there, bonus points on sign up can be one of the best perks with a credit card. They can be exchanged for travel rewards, like plane tickets or flight upgrades, accommodation, and rental cars, or even splash out in the rewards program store.
With so many credit card issuers in the market, RateCity has done the hard job of searching for you to compile a list of the credit cards offering the biggest bonus points on sign up this July.
According to the RateCity database for July, the top credit cards offering the greatest points bonus on sign up are:
- 200,000 points – Citi Prestige
- 150,000 points – St. George/Bank of Melbourne/BankSA Amplify Signature
- 150,000 points – Qantas Money Premier Titanium
- 150,000 points – Bank of Queensland Platinum Visa
These offers may benefit different credit card customers with their own individual financial needs. It’s crucial you compare not just the bonus points on offer, but factors like the interest rates, fees, and number of interest free days as well.

Comparing credit cards: from the RateCity database
Keep in mind that there is more to a credit card than the bonus points on offer. According to the RateCity database (accurate as of 30/06/2022):
- The average purchase rate is 16.20%
- The average annual fee is $131.70
These figures can help you during your comparison as a benchmark to assess how competitive different card options are.
It’s worth noting that for credit cards with large bulk points on sign up, you’re more likely to find they come with higher interest rates and fees than the average listed above. These higher costs help to pay for the rewards programs, and it’s assumed that if you are applying for a premium credit card, you can afford these higher costs.
Further, the cards may also come with higher minimum spending limits than other options for these same reasons. Credit cards with large bonus points on sign up tend to be premium card offerings for those with higher incomes.
If higher than average interest rates and fees doesn’t suit your budget, consider comparing some of the lower rate and fee credit card options available.
