One-third of Aussie households have solar panels - top green loans to get your solar journey started
If you’re one of the hundreds of thousands of Aussies looking to install rooftop solar, it may be worth comparing the top-rated green personal loans to help finance your goal.
Almost one-third of Australian households now have solar panels, according to a recent ABC News article.
Recent figures from the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) noted that the number of rooftop solar installations increased in 2021. While the CER said there was typically “a lag of up to 12 months in the reporting of new units”, it was expected to hit 380,000, with a total capacity of 3,200 for this period.
As interest in environmentally friendly home improvements continues to grow, you may be wondering how to best finance the installation of solar panels on your home.
One option to consider is a green personal loan. This type of personal loan was created by lenders to specifically finance the purchasing and installation of sustainable, or ‘green’, products, such as solar panels.
It’s worth noting that green loan providers typically provide more competitive interest rates for this loan type to incentivise borrowers to make more sustainable choices.
There are several green personal loans available in the market but comparing all these options to find your best loan can be a time-consuming process. This is where RateCity’s leaderboards come in.
Our leaderboards rank green loans in the marketplace using our Real Time RatingsTM system. Each personal loan is given a score out of five stars, based on loan costs and flexibility. Unlike other rating systems that grade their products once or twice a year, Real Time RatingsTM results are calculated in real time. This means you get the most up-to-date rating for your comparison.
(Rankings are correct at the time of publishing. Please note lenders may trade places on the list as interest rates and fees change and RateCity’s tracker reflects these movements.)
