How do I claim Qantas Frequent Flyer points?
If you have a Qantas Frequent Flyer number but missed including it during booking, you can claim the points after completing the journey. If you’re a new member, you may be able to claim points for flights taken before enrolling for the program. The Qantas Frequent Flyer program also allows you to claim missing points with other partners, including car rentals, credit cards, and hotels.
Qantas Frequent Flyer claim points procedure
It’s uncommon, but if your Qantas points aren’t reflected on your points activity statement, here’s the procedure to claim the missing points. Also, note that it may take Qantas up to 24 hours to review your claim and up to 14 days for partner airlines.
Generally, Qantas points for eligible flights are added within 14 days from the travel date to your account. However, if the point statement doesn’t reflect the eligible flights, you can claim for missing points within 12 months by logging into your account. While claiming the missing points, you’ll need details, such as booking information, flight number, travel date, and ticket number, which can be found on your boarding pass or e-ticket.
You can send an email to [email protected] along with relevant details, boarding pass, and receipt in one of the following situations:
- An incorrect number of points or status credits is added
- The airline in which you travelled doesn’t allow online claims
- If your travel was interrupted, then applying for Original Routing Credit because your original ticket would’ve earned more points
How to claim missing points from non-airline partners?
If eligible points from non-airline partners like credit card transactions, hotel bookings, and car rentals are missing, you can still claim these after the fact. It may take up to eight weeks after the transaction is done, and if the points don’t appear within this time, you can contact the partner directly. You may need to submit relevant details to confirm that you’re eligible to claim the missing points. However, you should remember that not all partners allow claims for retrospective points.
Cards and banking
Credit and charge cards linked to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program automatically credit the relevant number of points on your daily spending. If the automatic credit doesn’t happen, it is recommended you contact the card partner to ensure that you’ve correctly linked the accurate Qantas Frequent Flyer number to the card.
Hotels and travel
As a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, you have up to 90 days from the date of check-out to claim missing points on Airbnb and Qantas hotel bookings. If you’ve stayed with Radisson Hotel Group, you can contact the member service numbers 1-888-288-8889 (USA) and +61-2-9230-4477 (Asia Pacific) to claim missing points.
Insurance
- To claim missing points on Australian policies, you can contact nib Travel Services on 1300 783 146.
- To claim missing points on New Zealand policies, contact nib Travel Services on 0800 800 608 or +61 9 300 5331.
- To claim missing points on other policies, you can contact the QBE office details provided on the policy documents.
Transport
- If points are missing on bookings with Avis, you can contact 1800 141 000 or your local Avis office.
- To claim missing points on bookings with Budget you can contact 1800 150 278 or your local Budget office.
