#Trauma Insurance

Trauma Insurance pays a lump sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a critical illness that is specified in your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). In order to receive a benefit, your condition must match or be worse than the definition provided in the PDS and you must survive for at least 14 days from the date of diagnosis.

The lump sum benefit can help to cover lost income so you can continue to pay your mortgage or rent, other debts, your day to day living expenses as well as helping to pay for medical expenses that result from your illness.

Insurers generally offer two trauma insurance types – Standard Trauma policies and Plus Trauma policies. Plus Trauma policies generally provide cover for a number of additional lesser critical illnesses on top of the conditions offered in a Standard Trauma policy.
